Foyer and great room.  Slate tile and natural hickory flooring with random widths and clear finish.  Custom iron handrail fabricated locally..
This Amherst, Massachusetts project  was a collaboration between the home owner, Aelan Tierney AIA /Kuhn-Riddle, Barry Roberts builders and myself.  Below are photos of the interior upon completion.

Detail of loft and stairs.  Horizontal banding with custom moldings in maple and natural cherry surrounds the room, bringing the scale of the ceiling downward and adding interest.

Celedon green paint in varying strengths are used on the great room walls while the stair mass anchors itself to the center of the room with a deep clay paint color and contrasting white trim.
